Review INCOMPARABLE by Brie and Nikki Bella

Anyone that knows me, knows that I grew up on wrestling. The 90's Attitude era of WWF and my fav wrestlers were Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and Lita. I stopped watching it when it got all kid friendly lol and one day I stumbled upon a show called Total Divas on E. The reality show focused on the women wrestlers in what was now called WWE and I instantly loved the Bella Twins. So much that I started re-watching wrestling again (have now stopped since they moved to BT Sport which I don't have). When I heard about this book I just had to read it.

Themes: Family, life choices, relationships, abuse

Age: 18+

Incomparable is the memoir co-written from twins Brie and Nikki Bella. They are retired WWE wrestlers and Hall of Famers. Nikki is the longest reigning Divas Champion. The book covers their childhood up till the present day (before they had their sons).

This book really surprised me. From watching their show Total Bella's, I think it's easy to think oh I know so much about them but I was shocked on their upbringing. From the show you find out that their dad had a drug issue and their childhood wasn't great but reading it, you really understand the depths of it. What really stood out to me was when Nikki shared the abuse she went through. I have so much admiration for her for even speaking about it. I loved when Brie mentioned that she wanted another child but she wasn't sure when and now she has a second child.

After finishing the book, I'm amazed how these twins took themselves out of a broken home and literally made a brand of themselves in a very male dominated history. They have created multiple brands outside of wrestling and if like me you're a fan of their show, then it's really cool reading about things from their perspective—that wasn't covered on TV.  It's a super inspiring story that I think everyone, especially women should read. Plus I love that their sons are born a day apart.

If you need a 'don't give up kind, you can do it' kind of book then this is the one, whether you're a wrestling fan or not.

Great book!
